What
Black Writers for Peace and Social Justice (BWPSJ) was founded in 2024 to publish work by Black writers, provide skill-building learning experiences for Black writers and offer administrative training and services for literary organizations intent on creating a writing and public engagement practice founded in tenets of peace and social justice.
Why
Through collective action, Black writers can advocate for systemic change and influence public discourse on issues of peace and social justice. By leveraging our collective influence, we can impact the push for policies and practices that promote equality and fairness.
Who
We are Black professional writers of diverse genres who provide learning experiences for Black writers who write any genre-- from journalism and creative fiction to poetry and memoir. We also provide training and adminstrative services to literary organizations that serve Black writers.

Black Writers for Peace and Social Justice is excited to announce a call for submissions for our quarterly digital publication, The Rebel’s Zeitgeist.
We welcome submissions from both emerging and established writers who are passionate about using their craft to promote peace and social justice. Each piece should reflect a commitment to these ideals and contribute to the ongoing dialogue around equity and liberation.
Writing for Liberation Workshop

Explore the profound genre of Liberation Writing as defined by BWPSJ (Black Writers for Peace and Social Justice). Through discussion and practical exercises, participants will learn to cultivate a writing practice that centers on principles of liberation, equity, and social justice.
